Future plans include the extension of the Dubai Metro to include the Blue Line, which will directly connect Dubai Creek Harbour. This project was approved in November 2023 and is expected to be completed by 2029. The Blue Line will be 30 kilometers long and comprise 14 stations, including stops in Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Ras Al Khor, Dubai Silicon Oasis and Academic City. It will connect to the existing Red and Green Lines, with interchanges at the Creek (Green Line) and Centrepoint (Red Line) stations.
